If the soul of snowboarding could be located, Danny Davis would know right where to sniff it out.
Drop “soul-rider,” and cue the eye rolls. But mention Danny and people pay attention. From breakout contest wins to signature events and video projects, his career was built on community over individual accomplishment. Always aware of the mountain beyond the superpipe, Danny’s growth from a transition icon to a backcountry-savvy, climate advocacy leader mark him as a living legend in the making.
Anna Gasser is the first female to stomp a cab double cork, but her roots go back to moving sight unseen from Austria to Mammoth staff housing.
Anna started out chasing the dream of riding as much as possible, then quickly accelerated past ripping the local park to sweeping international podiums. Pushing the limit as the first female to land cab double and now triple corks, or just sharing party laps with friends, her blend of technical poise and a humble love for snowboarding are inspiring a new wave of women’s freestyle progression.
Creative flow embodied on and off his board—when it comes to influences, Niels Schack literally counts the whole world.
After learning to ride in Iran, Dannish-French Niels honed his skills at the French freestyle hotspot, Avoriaz. Skip forward a few timezones, and he’s filmed innovative street lines and dirt cliffs from Finland to Kyrgyzstan and beyond. But his palette doesn’t end with winter— currently based in Paris, Niels’ paintings have earned him shows with street art heavies like Lucas Beaufort.
If becoming a pro rider required a start-up plan, being the first woman invited to enter X-Games Real Snow would be a good kickoff.
Maria has a business degree, but luckily for us she paused that career to pursue snowboarding. Coming out of nowhere with a passion for metal on metal, her technical street riding produced a “Video Part of the Year” award. With a Pemberton, BC location that combines life on snow with life as a loving mother, Maria’s style and work ethic make it safe to predict her investments will pay off big.
This is Major Mark to Ground Control: I'm stepping through the door, and I'm floating in a most peculiar way.
It’s easy to imagine Mark McMorris taking off and never coming back down. After dominating the international slopestyle circuit for years, Mark battled back from a devastating injury to become the most decorated Winter X Games medalist ever. But in person, Mark’s easy-going, fun-loving antics prove that between corked-out contest missions, this dude has both feet planted firmly on the ground.
Kimmy Fasani’s snowboarding career is as solid and awe-inspiring as the mountains she loves to shred down.
From blasting gender barriers to dropping full-speed Alaskan descents, Kimmy has blazed a path that elevates female riders. Onscreen she sends double backflips and pillow lines, laughing all the way. Who wouldn’t—it’s snowboarding, right? But behind the scenes, Kimmy’s resilience in the face of the impossible is the bedrock of her lasting influence on the sport.
Part slopestyle slayer, part backcountry powerhouse, Red Gerard is the new standard for all-terrain mastery.
Only a rider like Red can pivot from Olympic gold competition performances to breakout all-mountain video parts. What accounts for his wild growth spurt from a 2-year-old mini-shred to a next-generation leader? We chalk it up to Red’s innate creative flow, explosive pop, and commitment to exploring everything snowboarding has to offer.
